Mind your Peace and Q's

Even on a beautiful February winters day it seems so inviting! You can just imagine getting into a sailboat waiting off to the side...and taking off around the surrounding islands......(nice picture, Adam!)

Meanwhile, back to reality!! Francesca and Starr (2 of Calli's Barbies) had a busy day with us today. They had to participate in a grocery shopping trip, a jaunt through the mall, a picnic by the beach, a bit of suntanning, being dragged through the sand at the beach and then being tossed aside in the car for a few chocolate mini eggs...At least they both had clothes on for their outdoor adventure.

Adam got a new pair of sunglasses for Christmas. I think they are pretty funky looking! I think he looks like a celebrity in them! Please note that Starr did everything she could to get her little head into that shot! She's there in the bottom left corner of the shot...see her?

Calli was quite brave walking to the edge of the water and back with her Dad. I think she was hesitant, but once she realized he wouldn't be letting go of her hand, she wanted to step in the water. Adam let her taste a bit of the water on her finger...I'm not sure why she forgot that it was salt water...She's been in and around the ocean her whole life...The things kids choose to remember. She reminds us almost weekly of the time she fell at the cheese factory in Switzerland and how she had to have ice to decrease the swelling in her lip and cheek (and that her Uncle helped fix her "because he's a Doctor!!") Or she'll tell us repeatedly about the fact that Granny's cat hissed at her once...She'll remember weird little details about things she has obviously pondered about quite a bit, but she has most certainly not remembered that the ocean tastes like salt! Funny.

I love how clear the ocean is. The lake that I grew up beside didn't have such a clear view to the bottom.
It was really nice to sit outside and eat our lunch today. All we could hear was a creek running itself along to the ocean and the low groan of a few barges motoring along on the water...other than that it was as Calli told us "Peace and quiet." Even Marin enjoyed it, sleeping the whole hour and a half in her car seat in the car!!
