We're SO cool!
We finally got our air conditioner this morning! We had it on all day and as Murphy's Law would have it, the weather was not nearly as hot as it was yesterday. Nevertheless, it was much cooler in the house than it has been over the last month since we've lived here.
We had a fantastic visit with an old friend and his new wife this evening at their house. Adam went to Flight School in Abbotsford with Richard. We've kept in touch over the years and Adam was lucky enough to attend Rich and Erica's wedding last month, as well as Rich's stag!! I believe it's been 4 years since I last saw Rich, and I'd never met Erica until tonight!! We spent the evening chatting and catching up and laughing at the "old days!!" It's always nice to see old friends!
Marin did alright for the majority of the visit. She didn't have much of a nap today, so we were worried about how she would do. After she had something to eat, she was fine and played with all the toys Calli brought along and explored the condo.
Near the end of our visit, Marin's teeth started to get the better of her. She is pushing 4 teeth through right now...Poor little plum... :( She is doing quite well considering, but chews on anything in sight for relief. She has been sleeping through the night (lucky for us) and seems to be most bothered during the afternoons. I guess she just wants to get it all over with at one time. No waiting around for these pesky teeth to make their slow appearances over the next year!
Calli thought she'd won the lottery when Erica asked her if she wanted to eat at the coffee table away from the adults!! She had her own placemat and some pillows to sit on and even got to watch Finding Nemo while she downed her supper! I bet she'll want to visit Rich and Erica more often after this visit! On the way home she kept saying to us, "It sure was a nice visit at Rich and Erica's."
PS - Note to Gillian...That coffee table used to be yours! Rich's father-in-law stripped and re-finished it! Also, that is your old couch! They had it and 2 chairs reupholstered in a beautiful velvety type fabric!! Funny, hey!?
