Wilkommen

We had a visit from the Welcome Wagon this morning. A lovely lady showed up with a beautiful basket full of gift certificates and treats from various local businesses. How she got our names...we'll never know. In this province, married women go by their maiden names and she had my full maiden name. That's not a nice feeling to have. Apparently, the reason women use their maiden names is to go along with the liberation movement "everyone" agreed on a few years ago. So even if you want to use your husbands last name, all legal documents, medical cards, mortgages etc., will be in your maiden name. I haven't run into any problems so far with not having any ID in my maiden name...but I'm most worried about my move back to BC in the future!

Adam and Mike took the girls out for a bit this afternoon to leave me with a few hours to be alone and collect my thoughts. Unfortunately, I couldn't find them. Instead, I cleaned my house and tried organizing some more stuff. We are waiting for the house to be painted inside and for 2 floors to be re-carpeted, so we haven't fully moved in yet as we know we are going to end up moving things around once the work is done. All this crappy waiting around has made it hard to unpack and settle in completely, but on the other hand, it has given us a chance to be sure of where we want our furniture and how we want the house organized! With bad, comes good.
After they returned from their downtown venture, Adam took the girls for a swim before supper. It wasn't long before Calli was asking to get out as she was too cold! Finally a reprieve from the HEAT!!

Gorgeous little grin!!

Calli asked to be splashed...Adam fulfilled her wishes!!

Marin wasn't all that thrilled with water being thrown in her direction! Like mother, like daughter!!

My little climbing Marin girl, impressed us this morning with her sightseeing abilities! She was still in her little pj's and decided to observe the world outside from atop a baseboard heater under our front window. The funniest part about the whole thing, is she was the instigator and Calli quickly followed suit! I think it's hilarious that Calli didn't think of it on her own...although I'm sure it'll become a common occurrence now they've both figured it out.

She loves playing peek-a-boo through the curtains...

It was a lovely evening and we ate our supper outside. Normally, suppertime is a bit to toasty to spend outside, but today was an exception! Calli was quite happy to be outside, but ventured in to get a blanket as she was too cold. I tried convincing her to use a sweater instead, but she had her mind on using a blanket, and nothing was changing her mind!

Marin managed to make it out of the house and into the car while holding this empty baby soap bottle the other day. She eventually fell asleep with it like this:

Adam thought it was pretty cute and snapped this picture of her. Such a proud Dad!!
