Moving Go Karts!!

We got up relatively early and headed into the city to help Kevin and Chelsea load up the last of their stuff for their move back to Ontario. (Well, it's Kevins move really...) They really didn't have much to load up by the time we arrived, so Marin and I supervised the lobby and watched the UHaul in case we had to defend the goods from robbers!! Marin managed to stink up the lobby, excluding the chance of inside-the-building robbers!!

This is Calli with a lei she got from Auntie Chelseas' garage sale pile. She'd wrapped it around her wrist like a Cheerleaders pom-pom, so she was striking what she believed to be a Cheerleaders pose!!

Afterwards, we headed out to a Go-Kart track. Calli was really excited to go with her Dad. Here they are purchasing their time on the track.

The plan was for Adam and Calli to go together on the little track first, then Kevin and Adam would take on the big track in the fast karts. After watching the "training/preparation" video, Calli was looking forward to her ride, but questioned why she would have to wear a helmet. Once she got downstairs to the area where they were to get ready and we told her she had the choice between a green or yellow helmet, she no longer had the desire to go. She ONLY wanted a pink helmet. Adam gave her a little pep talk and then decided he and Kevin should go first so Calli could see what transpires. She thought it was great and instead of cheering for her Dad, she cheered for Uncle Kevin. "Go Uncle Kevin, Go!! Go!! Go!! GO!!" I'm surprised she still had a voice left once they were done.

Adam...Eyeing up the track in preparation for his big victory!!

The boys suiting up! Kevin in the blue helmet, Adam in the red!!

This is when Calli found out there were NOT any pink helmets. Adam is doing his best to give her a pep talk and get her to try the karts out...

Adam (left-red)) and Kevin (right-blue) all suited up and ready to get racing.

Giving their "ready" signals!!

And they're OFF!!!

Trying one more time to get Calli to wear a green or yellow helmet, and go for a spin!!! (Not literally.)

Needless to say, she still had no desire to go with her Dad. We told her they wouldn't be going fast, she would wear a helmet for safety, she would be sitting right beside her Dad in the cart...But she didn't bite. She REALLY didn't want to go. Darn that pink helmet.

Auntie Chelsea and Calli standing in the pits!!

The winners podium! I'm not sure how Calli won the gold... I'm also not sure she knows why she's up there!!

Here is Marin, part of the All Important Pit Crew/Cheering Squad!

We saw Kevin and Chelsea off and headed back home.

On a side note: We managed to make some big progress on re-organizing our house since the carpet was installed!! It's slowly coming together! Hooray! I'll include pictures soon.
