Sunday Drivers

The most exciting piece of news today!!?? Marin spent the majority of the day walking. She has been showing more and more confidence each day, so we knew it would happen soon and today she showed us that she is ready to go!!

Both kids have come down with a cold over the last few days. I am certainly keeping them filled up with my special tea. Marin wasn't too excited about taking the tea at first, but I mixed it with apple juice and she is drinking it with no problem now! So smart! Her cold hasn't slowed her down much. Here she is up on the TV cabinet picking herself a CD! She has mastered her climbing skills, and maneuvers furniture in order to make climbing easier.

Here's Calli with a lovely chicken noodle soup lunch and a piece of toast.

When I was younger, my Dad used to make my brother and I Cheese Whiz on toast. He would spread the cheese on the bread, then toast the whole thing, thereby melting the cheese and sometimes causing the top to brown up. No matter how long we waited, we would often end up burning the tops of our mouths from the hot cheese. It was a nice little memory when I made the Cheese Whiz toast for Calli's lunch. I love how certain things unexpectedly remind me of my Daddy.

We took a drive to check out the fall colours today. We came across a few interesting sights.
Aren't the colours amazing??!!

We found this ski hill which seems to be a popular hiking spot. If you look close enough, you'll see 2 groups of people making their way up the slopes. We will be doing this hike in the near future. It's a perfect time to go and see the splendor of fall!!

A lot of houses are made of brick or stone around here. It makes for some amazing looking houses. Although, we have seen some that are faced with brick, but have vinyl sides. A bit strange.
We found this one out in the country today!!

We took the long way home and drove to a place called Ile Perrot. We found some pretty fancy houses on Lac Louis, another widening of the St Lawrence River. We made our way to a huge golf course right on the lake. In the far distance of this first picture is Montreal. It was a bit hazy, so the city doesn't show up on my pictures unfortunately. But if you look at the funny tree in the middle of this picture...

...You'll see a guy playing golf nearby...

Do you see him?

There are a lot of new houses going up around Ile Perrot. We had no idea that they could build the main part of the house and then just put the lid on when they were done!! They really think of everything these days, don't they??
