Sleepy Cinderella

Marin and Calli have both been under the weather lately, so to speak. Marin must have tired herself out with all the walking she's been doing, because as I was working in the kitchen, I turned around to find her like this...fast asleep on the kitchen floor. She wouldn't go to sleep in her crib, so I brought her into our room, where Adam was sleeping after working all night and they napped together for a few hours!

Yesterday Adam and I decided it was time Calli watched Ever After: A Cinderella Story. (Drew Barrymore is "Cinderella," although her name is Danielle in the movie.) Calli's life seems to revolve around weddings and Cinderella, which she incorporates into her every day life, so it was perfect timing we figured. And so the movie began... She seemed to be enjoying it, she laughed in all the right places, she was sad when Cinderella's Dad died, she was angry when the step-sisters were mean. Things were going along fine, until......."Dad, there are no mouses in this movie." The poor girl... The cartoon Cinderella movie that she'd been watching for the last year or so was so much different than this real people version. No mice (mouses), no fairy godmother (it's Leonardo da Vinci in this movie), no pumpkin carriage, no Lucifer the cat. In the end, she said she really enjoyed it. I guess we'll see if and when she asks to watch it again!!

I love "Ever After"... it ranks up there as a favorite, along with "Pretty Woman".
I guess the little girl Fairy Tale and Cinderella Dreams never really disappear, even when one is 36 years old!

Hey, have you rented Cinderella II for Calli (yes, there are mice in it)? Emma loves that one too. We rented it last Friday and have it for another 4 more days. I think Emma has watched it like 12 times already!

Marin asleep on the carpet is just incredible, she must feel so secure or maybe its so tiring now, having to walk around instead of crawling!

However the picture of Calli two blogs ago, midair above the puddle she is about to jump into is prize-winning!

Of course I am biased!
