42 Degrees and counting...

We picked up our lovely new car yesterday! It is so nice and clean and sparkly and it drives very smoothly! We are quite happy with it and there is FAR more room in the back seat for the car sets than the Jetta has.

The temperature yesterday was 42 degrees with humidity. It was BRUTAL! I have no idea how people manage on a regular basis. We were lucky enough to have been invited out to a friends house for the afternoon and evening.

Adam was in the same training course with the hostess and most of the guests. (how formal of me...) They had a nice cool pool to swim in and lots of cold beer/wine/ice tea for us! The sun wasn't really out, but it was HOT. So we spent the day swimming and lounging around, chatting and eating.

Marin managed to beat the heat!

Some stranger we picked up along the way!

Calli waiting for her Dad to stop horsing around in the pool and come and take her for a dip!!

We headed home around 9pm and the outside air temperature was still showing 30 degrees. Once we got closer to home we were treated to an amazing lightning show! There was no rain, just beautiful, bright flashes in the sky! It was quite spectacular to watch! It began raining about an hour later and it didn't stop all night! So far it's cooler outside, but I'm sure the temperature will sneak up again. Time to think about getting that air conditioner!!

Hey Bean,

I love the heat but 42 degrees sounds brutal. The best thing we've done so far to beat the heat here in PR, is buy a air conditioner for Zoe's room. It keeps her room cool all day, and she goes to bed early in the evening comfortably without the hot sauna her room usually is. Not many late bedtimes in the summer due to heat this year since we put that in. The rest of the house cools down pretty good on it's own, but if it didn't we'd be installing a huge unit for sure.

Buy the way, cool wheels, Al is all over that car even if it's not a VW.

Miss you!
God I would die there. Seriously. SOOOO hot. It gets about 30 here with no humidity and that's enough for me!!

The pictures aren't showing up right now...so I'll check again lata....
