Progress takes Time

We are getting there...little bits each day. We nearly have our own computer hooked up again. We were waiting for our new modem to arrive today, but ended up rushing in to the city for an errand. Adam understood that the guy would just put a card in our mailbox (like they do in BC) if he missed us at the house, and we could pick up the parcel at the Post Office in town. Much to our great surprise...we checked the mail on the way back to the house and instead of finding a card directing us to the Post Office, we found a set of keys and directions to open a different box to retrieve our parcel!! RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF US!!! We didn't even have to work to get the parcel! We were so excited. We got home and plugged the thing in and were all gung-ho to go...............But nothing happened. Adam made a phone call to Bell and they have frozen our account until they can verify our information. ???????? Ok. So much for that great idea.

So because I am sick of not being part of the blogging community, I downloaded my camera onto this laptop and figured it out my own way. So here we are!

I should be on line for real tomorrow...but for now...this will just have to do.

This is a picture of Calli at the Tam Tam. Every Sunday, random people get together to drum and hang out and take in the atmosphere. This is so my kind of thing. We took Jason last weekend when he was here visiting and there were literally thousands of people there.

There are about 4 or 5 groups of drummers, each doing their own beats and creating their own sounds. People can join in with any sort of instrument they choose. I saw everything from bongos in all sizes, to full on drum kits, to maracas to some old leather faced woman with too much eye liner, a tutu and some leaves wrapped around her ankle, tapping a piece of dowling on a circular piece of wood. See below...

Unfortunately, she seemed to be playing to the beat of her own drum...if you know what I mean. We saw hammocks hanging in trees, pieces of rope strung up between trees and people of all shapes, sizes and ages trying to walk across the "tight rope." There is a whole lot of whacky tabacky around the place as well. So much for people watching at the airport!!! This is far more interesting!

This is Marin all worn out after swimming the other day. She took a little siesta after all the kicking and splashing she had to do.

Here are Jason (aka Uncle B), Calli, Adam and Marin in the pool on a HOT day. We had a quick dip to cool off a bit before heading into the city to partake in a festival.

This is Calli with her Animalerie meal at St Hubert (chicken nuggets in animal shapes.) According to the locals St Hubert is the most popular chicken joint around. You can even call for delivery. They have little yellow cars with a cone on top, decorated with a picture of a cartoon rooster. Every time we see one driving around, Calli points it out and wonders aloud whether the people are having the "car lunch."

This is the girls and my Mum with the Fun Cart from Home Depot. We have become regulars to the store, so the girls expect the fun cart every time now and get pretty excited to ride in it. We had a little mishap the other day when Calli thought she'd be funny (in her own mind) and undo Marin's seat belt, causing poor little Marin to fall onto the bottom of the cart. Nice.

For some reason Calli has taken to undoing the seatbelt, leaning over the side of the cart and pretending to spit out some gum. ??? Don't even ask. She also calls Marin "Adam" while "driving."

Til tomorrow...
