And the Oscar goes to...
Calli and I had a date together for Oscar night. Adam was away at work, so we had the day and evening to ourselves (once Marin was in bed). We had borrowed the perfect Oscars dress from our friends the day before. Calli has plenty of fancy Princess dresses, but this particular Cinderella-type dress had diamond embellishments, making it very Oscar-ish!
We headed out to pick out a new nail polish colour for the big event to go along with the fancy hair we had planned! Calli spent about 5 minutes trying to decide on the perfect colour. Even though I told her she could choose any colour she wanted, she was trying to make certain that she picked the correct one for her outfit. She waffled a bit between 2 purples, finally settling on a light purple with sparkles in it!
Calli loved watching the ladies walk the red carpet in their beautiful dresses. However, she quickly grew bored of the interviews and practiced twirling in her dress instead. Once the show started she said "Well, I'm glad all that boring stuff is over." She lasted approximately 4.5 minutes after that before telling me she was ready for bed!! I guess we'll try again next year!
