Garden Cartoon
Because Nellie managed to eat almost every bush and flower we had last year, despite the fences we put up, Adam decided to make a "real" garden this year. We already had the bed made from last year, so he put a tall fence up around our veggie garden to keep the Golden Beast out. (She even went so far as to eat whatever leaves, twigs or branches were sticking out from beneath the snow!!)
The girls were more than happy to help plant all the veggie seeds in nice, straight rows. Here is Calli planting some peas along the outside edge.
Marin helped plant the radishes. Adam and I love teaching them about planting and gardening. By next year, they'll be ready to have their own garden!! I can guarantee it would be without flowers though...between the two of them, they'd have every one picked and into a vase inside the house.
We were heading to the grocery store one warm afternoon and I asked Marin to get her shoes on, so she did...but being the independent little soul that she is, she chose these boots!!! Quite an outfit! We did have her change her footwear before we left the house. I don't want anyone thinking she's a hussy!!!
So here is my little riddle, regarding Marin. How do you know when your daughter has watched her Cinderella movie one too many times?
When she is chasing Horsie, the cat, around the house shouting "LUCIFER!! Come back here, Lucifer!! Leave that poor little mouse alone!!"
Poor Horsie. She is celebrating her 12th year of life and I bet she never thought she'd be mistaken for a mean and famous cartoon cat!!
