Garden and the dog

We had a lovely garden this year!  I think it was because of all the help Adam had planting it (as you'll see in these photos)!!  Last year, Adam didn't listen to the advice of our neighbour/friend and he planted the weekend before the May long weekend.  She planted on June 1st and had the most magnificent garden, while we could barely call ours a "garden."  This year, Adam and Courtney planted on the same day and both of them had fantastic gardens.  He also changed the pH in our soil, which might have had a lot to do with the success.

Marin and Calli really love helping with the garden.  They are very careful putting the seeds into the ground, they help with watering and don't get too carried away with it all, they pull weeds when the need arises and this year they plucked countless caterpillars off the plants for us!

Unfortunately, the caterpillars shredded our rose plants until they were just a whisper of their former selves...

Nellie loves being outside with us.  She sometimes runs around like a maniac while we pretend to "get" her, other times she sits quietly and chews on a piece of wood (where she keeps finding scraps of wood, I'll never know...), or a toy or a bone.  

If it were remotely possible, I'd say she was more in love with Adam than I am!  There is the fact that he ballroom dances with her and wrestles with her or lays on her bed in the living room with her and allows her to lick his face.  These are things him and I never do together...possibly a good thing!
