Easter in Ottawa
We made a pretty last minute decision to head out to Ottawa and spend Easter with Adam's family out there before they all head off in other directions! We also had to get out there to meet Lila, our new niece! Adam had already met her, but the girls and I wanted a chance to spend some time with both Lila and Sofia before they move out of Ottawa with their parents. As an added bonus, Adam's parents have been living out there for a few months, so we were able to visit with them, as well as Kevin and Suzy who were part of our greeting committee at the airport and who also stayed for Easter dinner before carrying on home.
The trip out to Ottawa from here is so quick and easy! Only a little less than 3.5 hours and we were already there!! A person hardly has time to get bored on a flight that short! I wish I'd had a photo, but we were greeted at the airport by everyone except Raffi who, unfortunately was at work. Adam thought he was so lucky to have a greeting party at the airport. He doesn't usually have anyone waiting for him at any of the airports he goes to, so it was a nice treat for him to have a whole group expecting him.
We headed home to Gillian and Raffi's place and visited a bit while supper was cooking. Adam got to spend some nice time with his brother and also with little Lila.
That night, Calli left a note for the Easter bunny in her little sketchbook. I'm surprised the Easter bunny could read it, it was a tad messy!!
It says: Dear Easter bunny
I hope you have/had a great time in my auntie's house.
be careful cause my sister says she can walk through walls.
Christmas is my second favourite holiday but easter is my favourite holiday.
Love from Calli

She left a nice space for the Easter bunny to leave a note and was absolutely shaking in the morning when she came and showed us that he'd drawn her a picture!!! SHAKING!!! I swear she studied that drawing at least 20 times that day.
The girls had a great time searching all over the house for the hidden chocolate eggs, jelly beans and chocolate coins!!!
We chuckled at the little train of girls running around with eyes wide open! Calli in the lead, Marin in the middle and Sofia hot on their heels!
Here are Marin and Sofia in a blur, looking for eggs in the tv room...I think their speed was pretty closely captured in this photo!!
They checked and re-checked everything and took a quick break, long enough for me to get this photo of them in their pj's.
Lila is the cutest little baby in Ottawa!!! It was hard not to gobble her up whenever she was near!
Grandpa had a perfect spot to watch the kids running around looking for their treats.
We visited an amazing covered bridge in Wakefield, QC. Obviously it's rare to see these types of bridges anymore and this one was well worth the visit.
All three girls had a great time running back and forth along the bridge deck and peering through the boards to see the water rushing by under their feet.
After our visit to Wakefield, we brought the girls to a fun park to burn off some energy. I love this photo of Sofia copying Calli!!
Calli and her Auntie Gillian (and Lila) had a little chat on a bench after Calli went flying off the end of the slide and landed on her tailbone. Poor little chicken!!
All four of the cousins from Adam's Dad's side of the family, having a little snuggle time on the couch.
Thank you to the Ottawa Robbies for taking good care of us and all of our bumps, bruises and hospital visits!! We had a wonderful visit, despite all that and will be thinking of you in the coming weeks as you get ready to head off in different directions! xoxo

Running!!! Sofia managed to ditch her jacket while running and Marin came to the rescue and picked it up for her!
The Wakefield, Quebec covered bridge. Wakefield is famous for the Auberge Mouton Noir or the Blacksheep Inn. Check it out on the link I included...After our visit to Wakefield, we brought the girls to a fun park to burn off some energy. I love this photo of Sofia copying Calli!!
